Christmas and stuff

Well, since today is the 30th, I suppose I better write something about our Christmas. We had a great, fun and family (and a little stress) filled holiday. We spend Christmas Eve and Day with both our families. It means a lot of driving for us, but it's worth it. We went sledding on the 24th with Michael's family and have a great pictures of my cute little boys, which is great because Keagan cried almost the whole time we were there. Here it is:

Then we had a late lunch at his parents house of soups and breads and it was delicious. Then we went to my parents and had our traditional turkey dinner, complete with egg nog and toasting to the things we are grateful for, and of course the reading of the Polar Express.

The next morning we got up, opened our presents, got dressed and headed to my parents to open more presents there and have our breakfast of butterscotch rolls (mmmmm). My sister Jessica didn't get to come home from Bangladesh this year, but set up our webcams and she stayed up all night to watch us open our presents. We love technology. At about noon, we headed over to Michael's family for our other traditional meal of ham, roast and.....shrimp. Mmmmmm. The holidays are good to us. This year his parents gave all the grandkids BYU sweatshirts. Ron is a professor there and is retiring soon. They will have a party in the next couple months for him and take a family photo with all their grandkids wearing their sweatshirts. It will be adorable.

We usually hang out there for a couple hours, but we were beat. We loaded our super tired kids in the car and came home for some quiet time. But since they both fell asleep in the car, once we got home, Michael and I didn't get much R or R. The next day we left to go up to my parents cabin with my family (parents, sister-husband-son, sister). We had a great time. It snowed about 2 feet while we were there. We played a lot of games, did some cross-country skiing, ate, laughed and just relaxed. We had a great time together, as always. (I'll post more pictures of Christmas when they're downloaded. I had the one of sledding because it was emailed to me...thanks Christine!)

Now we're back, facing a dirty house and work this coming week. Welcome back to reality. We hope you enjoyed your trip.

So boring, So exciting

I didn't write for so long because I had nothing to say. My life can be pretty boring at times, and it has been. However in the last two weeks things have been pretty exciting and now I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all the stuff I want to share.

Last week Zander and I made a gingerbread house. He was so proud of it. We did it over two nights and he was so excited when it was done he wanted to take pictures of it, so here they are....our masterpiece! (His favorite part was the roof.)

Then last weekend we had both our work Christmas parties. We had so much fun at both of them. They both had their plus and minuses. The DeltaValve party was at the Marriott, overlooking Gallivan Plaza skating rink. That was very fun. And they had a live band, and they were awesome! We danced the entire night. Literally. I think we danced to every song. And sometimes we were the only ones out there. Yeah, that was a little akward. We even got compliments from the band when it was over how much fun we were. AND, they did the limbo and I WON! Well I tied with another person, but I still got a $100 gift cart to MACY's! I was so excited!

The next night, the Dept. of Dermatology had their party at the Jewish Community Center. They also had dancing all night, but it wasn't a live band. Not quite as fun. However, we were never the only ones on the floor. Not even close. Some of my friends from work stayed and we all danced through the night. It was really a lot of fun! Here's a picture of Michael & I that night.

I tried to add a picture of us dancing...I have a pretty good one, actually, but I guess I've reached my limit for the day because it doesn't want to load. I'm on my way out for the evening for a birthday party, so I'll do more later.

If you scroll down to the post on Nov. 18th, the final pictures of the finished kitchen are there. I started that post on the 18th, and couldn't get the pictures to download. I just finished it the other day, but because it had that date originally, it posted in that order. Because I've been promising it, I thought I'd let you know where to find it!

All my little thoughts

Here is one of my new favorite pictures. We decorated our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. This is Zander playing with the ornaments when we had turned off the lights and were just enjoying the glow of the tree. I love that about Christmas.

It snowed on Saturday, almost all day. We had to shovel the driveway twice. Michael and Zander went outside and built a snowman. This is another cute picture of them. Keagan wanted to go out and play, but he doesn't have snow pants (yet) or boots, so we stayed in together.

Well, I wanted to add another few photos, but I guess I've reached my limit. Blogger and photos and I don't really get along that well. Anyway, Zander has been really cute and smart lately. He keeps saying things that just keep me laughing. A few days ago when Keagan woke up from his nap, he followed me in and said, "Is our precious little boy awake?" He tells me several times a day how 'cute' his brother is. Anytime he holds his blanket or sucks his thumb (which is often) or sleeps. On Friday, when I was getting ready for work he said, "Why do you always wear the same thing when you go to work?" I replied, "Well, this is kind of like my uniform. I work in a hospital, so this is what I have to wear." He thinks on that for a minute then says, "So does that mean that you take blood out of people to find out what is hurting them?" Is my kid a genius or what?! I told him sometimes I did, but mostly I take out small pieces of skin to find out what's hurting people. How cute.

Anyway, for my last piece of news, I didn't get accepted into the PA program at the University of Washington. I got the letter two days ago. It sucks, but I'm still hoping one of the other five school I applied to will want me. They all invite for interviews this month, so I will know by Christmas whether I will interview anywhere else or not. I'll keep ya'll posted!
