Lake Powell, Part II

So, better way late than never?? I have other things I want to post now, so I better get this out of the way. Here are some more fun pictures from our Gonzales reunion at Lake Powell.

Some of the girls in the fam...Kinley, Christine, Nicole, Samantha, and Rachel.

Oh so pretty...wish I was better at taking picures while on a moving boat. =)

Zander got stuck in the mud here twice. The second time it took 30 minutes to find his water shoe that he lost. He didn't do that again.

Christine, me and Nicole getting some good air on the tube. I was a little sore the next day to say the least.

Michael on the slalom ski.

And me on the slalom. I shouldn't put this picture next to Michael's...makes me look bad. But I did make it out of the wake as you can see. Getting back in, well that's another story.

Here is the sandcastle the kids made. Isn't it awesome? They even broke up little sticks to make a door that you can't see in this picture, but it was pretty cool.

Well, there are some more fun pictures from one of our summer adventures. Hope you enjoyed, and stay tuned for many more posts to come!

Girls at Work

So, I found some cute downloads for scrapbooking and decided I needed to put them to work! It was a DIVA album, so I naturally had to put the girls I work with in there. Take a look, I hope you like!

Lake Powell

Hey, better late than never, right?!
We went to Lake Powell with the Gonzales family August 9-12 and had a great time! We camped on the beach. We actually got up there a day later than expected due to Zander having an ear infection and fever of 103.6. Little scary. Here are some pictures of our fun vacation!

Keagan being a big helper and helping Michael set up the tent.

Keagan, Michael and Me starting the long, hot day!

Here's our dog Patch, and even though it doesn't look like it here, she had a great time at the lake with us, and she was even well behaved, which was a little uncharacteristic of her. Good dog!

Michael being a big hot shot on the wakeboard.

Well that's it for now. I'm going to stop and post this, just to make sure it all works, then I'll come back and post some more pictures and stuff later!

Happy Anniversary!

So, eight years ago today (well August 20th was the EXACT day) there was a beautiful young couple excitedly waiting their turn to be married in the Salt Lake temple. It was me and Michael, of course! We got married on my parents 25th anniversary. It was a beautiful day, nice and sunny, until we got to the reception. It was raining so hard the power went out, when they were trying to take our family pictures, of course. Amazingly, our pictures turned out great! You'd never know there were no lights on at the time.
So this year Michael sent me these lovely flowers while I was at work! I was the envy of the office, it was great! It's a beautiful bouquet of all pink flowers: roses, lilies (two kinds), gerber daisies, and carnations. It was gorgeous. What a great husband I have, even eight years later! That night we went to dinner with my parents to Thaifoon, a delicious restaurant at The Gateway. I highly recommend their lettuce wraps and the spicy tuna rull sushi. Amazing.

Look what I did!

I got online, found a tutorial for photoshop use specifically for scrapbooking and made my first digital scrapbook pages! I am so proud of myself, I thought I would share it with all (3) of you who read my blog! Everything used for these two pages I downloaded for free on shabbyprincess.com. Take a look.

I have a ton of other things I've wanted to share (my high school 10 year reunion, my anniversary, etc.) but my pictures won't download to my computer. The program keeps quitting before the pictures are there, but I'll keep trying! What fun is a blog without a picture? Some are fun, but I'm not funny or interesting enough just to write and have you all keep coming back for more. That being said I'm off again! Maybe if I can get my pictures on, you'll see seven posts next time you visit me here!
Later! =)

My Husband is the Man!

So, he was out of town on business (which happens a lot lately) and the lawnmower broke down. Actually it broke down before he left, but whatever. My awesome mom brought their lawnmower over to me so I could mow it while he was gone and ours was in the shop. When he returned (and I cried tears of joy instead of tears of loneliness) he called and was told it would cost $230 to fix the lawnmower. Did we even pay that much for it when it was new? Not sure. They told him what was wrong with it, and he decided he would take a look at it. He brought it home, put on his manly work clothes, turned up the tunes and took apart our lawnmower. He then put it back together, and guess what? It worked! Started up on the first try! No more broken lawnmower. Yes, my husband is the man!

A Much Needed Vacation

Not this weekend, but last, I went with my family (my mom, dad, sister, sister, sister's "friend", and two sons) to our cabin. Michael was out of town, so it was a nice distraction for me. I ordered a bunch of pictures and decided that I was going to take ALL my scrapbook stuff and bang out a whole bunch of pages. Well, I used about 40 of the 60 pictures I ordered and made about 10 or 12 pages. I was pretty proud of myself.
I love being at the cabin. There's no one else around. I'm there with my family. We go on walks, I scrapbook, we read, play lots of games, eat, and watch movies. We even floated down the river with canoes and did some shopping in West Yellowstone. What's not to love? I just wish my hubby had been there with me, that would have made it perfect. I wasn't necessarily ready to come home, but we had an eventful week/weekend ahead of us.
My cousin was married on Friday 8/3, so we had a lot of family in from out of town. I have a large family on both sides (both my parents are one of seven children) and love to see all of them. It was a busy, but fun weekend with all the different family gatherings. And Michael even surprised us all and came home 6 hours early, in time for the wedding! I was thrilled to have him there with me.
All in all, I had two fun weekends in a row, one very relaxing, one a little more crazy, but both were just what I needed!
